Editorial guidelines

This page explains how DealTree approaches editorial content, updates pages over time and handles the relationship between content decisions and commercial arrangements.

Updated for the current DealTree site experience in 2026.

Our editorial approach

DealTree is designed to help Australians compare products, providers and offers with more clarity. We aim to present content in a way that is practical, readable and focused on the points most people usually need to understand first.

We aim to explain categories in straightforward language rather than relying on unnecessary jargon.
We prioritise comparison points such as fees, rates, waiting periods, excess, inclusions and other practical trade-offs where relevant.
We try to structure pages so users can scan them quickly before deciding whether to click through to a provider.

How content is updated

DealTree content can change over time as categories expand, products change and we improve how information is presented. Some sections may begin as lighter recommendation or guide pages before they become deeper comparison experiences.

Product information, pricing, eligibility rules and offer terms can change, so we review and refine pages on an ongoing basis rather than treating them as static.

Commercial relationships and editorial decisions

DealTree may have commercial relationships with some providers. These arrangements can influence visibility, featured placement or how some offers appear on the site, but they do not automatically mean a provider or product will appear everywhere.

Users should read our commercial explanation together with this page so it is clear that editorial presentation and commercial relationships can both shape what appears on DealTree.

Corrections and feedback

We may review pages in response to feedback, changes in provider information or changes in how categories are presented across the site.
Final pricing, suitability, availability and terms should always be confirmed on the provider website before you apply or switch.
